I learned more about hitting in two hours than I had in my entire life. — Parent/Coach
All the coaches and parents are really impressed and feel their kids really learned something. — Town league president
Steve is outstanding, and he is a very engaging speaker. — Baseball mom
Watching the clinic, I was thinking about all the things I was doing wrong 20 years ago. — Father
Steve Ferroli can give you my answer to a question on hitting a baseball. — Ted Williams
In 1994, Steve Ferroli had the thrill of a lifetime when Red Sox great Ted Williams personally named him the number one teacher of his world-famous Science of Hitting theory. To honor his teacher, Steve designed a public service program for parents, coaches and players called “The Ted Williams Free Hit Day.” This program gives players 8 years and older the option to take batting practice while Steve takes notes on each hitter’s swing and approach. After the batting practice, Steve will host a public conversation on how to hit a baseball, relating the questions and answers to the players who have just batted.
It is clearly one of the best programs I have designed. And it’s free! — Steve Ferroli.
Players and coaches from all leagues and towns are encouraged to attend. Players are not required to bat and may just sit and listen. Email the Ted Williams League at or call 781-293-2700 with your name, age and the number of people that will be attending. When there is enough interest in your age group, the TWL will email you a scheduled time to attend. The free hit days are held indoors and out (depending on the time of year) at the Hanson Athletic Association in Hanson, Mass.
